a light installation by Eddie Farr suspended above the Peachtree Corners complex, dynamically shifting in response to Gwinnett's natural sunsets.

Activated at Explore Gwinnett’s Artober, a month-long celebration transforming Peachtree Corners complex with art, culture, and community, The Cloud That Dreamed of a Lake is a site-specific public artwork inspired by sunsets that emerge after a rainstorm. Suspended between the Peachtree Corners complex awnings, an inverted cloud hangs as if caught in reflection. Its swelling mass radiates in coordination with Gwinnett’s natural sunsets—golden hues fade into sunset colors before vanishing into night, and as darkness deepens, stars and the moon emerge across its surface, then slowly dim as if drifting clouds eclipse the light.
